The Other Notes boast versatility in many different musical genres. Based in Richmond, Virginia, we perform all over the state. Our variety of ensembles includes string duets, trios, quartets and strings with vocalists. From weddings, anniversaries, parties, corporate functions and other special occasions, we can create that special ensemble that works perfectly for your event.
We are performers and educators dedicated to not only entertain, but to excite the young minds and ignite their curiosity in music. We enjoy creating educational programs for the little ones, as well as more thought provoking performances for other audiences. Let us create a repertoire that will fit your audience!

Natalia O’Brien, M.M.
Natalia began playing the violin at the age of five and has since developed a successful career as a soloist and chamber musician, playing in numerous orchestras around the world. A native of Dominican Republic, she was the youngest artist ever to graduate from the National Conservatory of Music in Santo Domingo at the age of 17. She holds a bachelor’s degree in music from Shenandoah University from which she graduated cum laude and was a winner of the Shenandoah University Concerto Competition. She also has a master’s degree from Lynn University (Florida). Natalia lives in Richmond, Virginia and maintains a private music studio for young violinists and violists.

Amy Peterson
Amy Peterson, a native of Richmond, holds a BFA in Violin Performance from SUNY-Purchase College and has studied at the University of Oregon and Mannes College of Music in New York. She has held positions with the Anchorage Symphony (Alaska), the Bangor Symphony and the Midcoast Symphony (Maine), and the Petersburg Symphony (Virginia). Amy currently maintains a private teaching studio and freelances in Richmond. A passionate advocate for homeless animals, Amy also rescues abandoned pets and volunteers at local animal shelters.

Karla Herrera-Fisher, M.M.
Karla brings music everywhere she goes. Playing or singing, music has always been part of her life and she enjoys sharing the art of musical performance. Karla holds a degree in Violoncello from the Dominican Conservatory of Music, won a National Music Performance Competition and the contest from the Latin American Foundation for Young Artist. She was also nominated for the National Prize of the Youth. Karla is a former cellist of the Dominican National Symphony Orchestra and a former singer of the National Choir. Karla has a Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, a Masters in Music Education and is an advocate of the power of music in education and the inclusion of structured music instruction to young children.
